Wow, I am now starting to realize the challenge of maintaining a blog while trying to keep up on my work and other life responsibilities! It’s been a little while and just wanted to keep up on some of the stuff I’ve been working on. This summer I had the privilege of attending BlackHat USA and DEFCON 20, which was a blast. As all conferences go, there were some excellent sessions and some not so excellent sessions, but in all it was great to attend and learn as much as I could.
In the next few weeks I intend to wrap up my series on the Stripe CTF and then proceed to discuss methods for maintaining your pen-testing skills when you may be focused on other tasks during your day job or normal life. I’m definitely learning that it’s important to maintain your skills even when you aren’t using them daily (not that this is a hugely enlightening concept!). As a professor once stated regarding our military, “we fight while we train and we train while we fight”.
